Perigee

Perigee is a work about closeness and the patterns that enable the connections between each of us and our environment. The seven tracks explore distance through time, place, and opportunity. Drones evolve into patterns that morph and disappear into an expanding soundscape. Each song represents a personal connection, an internal demon, and the relationships that were embolden by, or lost to, the progression of time.

Perigee, the fifth album from Los Angeles based musician Nicholas Ruva’s Lake Onondaga moniker, teeters between slow drifting calm and deep turbulent waves, pulling the listener through layers of feedback and sound. The album combines guitar and synthetic elements to build a landscape of rhythmic loops and walls of sound.

Perigee is available now at Bandcamp, and releases to Spotify and all major online stores November 7th, 2019.

Limited Edition Cassette Available Now!

A cassette release of The Shortest of Years, the Longest of Days is available now at Bandcamp.com. The tapes are being professionally printed and duplicated onto a limited ruby red tape in an edition of only fifty pieces. The entire fifty-three minute album is duplicated on both sides of the tape so you can drone out for hours on auto-reverse.

The wonderful folks over at Duplication.ca helped make this physical release possible by offering tape duplication services at a good price, and enough options to make it viable for such a limited release. Depending on how things go with this cassette there may be future (and additional forms) of physical merchandise from Lake Onondaga in the future.

I’m completely psyched to be able to release this album on tape, and I’ll start shipping the cassettes around the second week of June.

The Shortest of Years, the Longest of Days

As the days toil, lost are the months to the progression of time. Years pass until memories are but waypoints dotted throughout a lifetime.  Reflection, a blurring of movement, yields a moment touched and obscured by the scrim. These are the shortest of years, the longest of days.

24bit FLAC version is available exclusively from Bandcamp, mostly because they rock and are great to work with, but even more importantly they support single files larger than 250Meg.

Summers in Waiting
